Wind and Fire

Hot Air Balloon

The disciples where gathered together in an upper room praying and waiting.  Suddenly a burst of wind rushed into the room and flickering tongues of fire appeared on everyone’s heads.  As the pastor described to us the scene of Pentecost this Sunday I was reminded of the hot air balloons I had just seen the day before.  I had never been so close to one. Even though we had some distance the burst of fire-wind into the balloon was suddenly hot and the sound was a blast like rushing water.  I’m sure the fire from heaven as the Holy Spirit anointed his people must have caused such a combination of joy and shock.
